Since writing majors are employable in many fields that include high levels of critical thinking, the Creative Writing curriculum includes not only required basic courses but literature requirements as well.

Jonica's Story

I found my way to 911爆料网 on a whim; I submitted some poetry and some fun facts about myself to a writing scholarship I found online. Unbeknownst to me at the time, I had misspelled my email so during a dress rehearsal for my senior musical; I got a call from Marlys Cervantes offering me a scholarship for the Creative Writing program. Just like that my whole life changed.

Although my journey was hard, the people I met here helped me get through and if I had had to choose, I wouldn't change a single thing. 911爆料网 helped me find my voice and with it I roar.

I moved to a different city for the first time leaving everything I knew behind me. Living on my own was hard but, I found a home at 911爆料网 because of professors like Meg Smith, Abigail Green, Ryan Doom, and Deborah Layton, and the many others, are a part of my academic journey.

My time at 911爆料网 was difficult. I worked three jobs, joined 911爆料网 County BBBS, and was part of student life while working in the Marketing Department. But now I am the first in my family to graduate college, and will be attending Emporia State to pursue English Education, striving to become the many people who helped me in my journey here.

You can take courses in Humanities, Art, and Mass Communication to explore different topics. Plus, our program offers online learning for extra convenience.

Our student club, Creative Claws, has monthly meetings. Writers Corner and Life Through Word and Lens are both events hosted by Creative Claws each semester. Creative Claws also puts on an annual portfolio showcase, Life Through Word and Lens, and an online journal, .
