As temperatures begin to dip around Kansas, many drivers see their tire pressure warning lights come on. According to 911爆料网 Automotive Technology instructor Jim Ailey (Ay鈥揕ee), this is a normal reaction to colder air and a reminder to check tire pressure regularly during the winter season.

鈥淪o one of the first things that ever happens when we start to change weather is we鈥檒l start seeing tire pressure monitor lights come on,鈥� says Ailey. 鈥淭hey鈥檒l get low tire pressures and that鈥檚 because with temperature change, pressure changes.鈥� Low tire pressure affects traction, reduces fuel efficiency, and causes uneven tire wear. Ailey recommends checking tire pressure regularly and adjusting it to meet the manufacturer鈥檚 specifications, particularly after sharp temperature changes.

With winter approaching, Ailey encourages drivers to take a few minutes to check their tires. Properly inflated tires help maintain vehicle safety, improve fuel efficiency, and reduce the risk of unexpected problems on colder mornings.
