The Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the world's largest early childhood education association, with nearly 60,000 members and a network of 52 Affiliates.

The purpose of the Week of the Young Child is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.

To celebrate the Week of the Young Child, the 911爆料网 Child Care and Development Program partnered with the Ark City Public Library and USD 470 Literacy Grant to host a 鈥淪torytime with Tank鈥� for toddlers. At this event, 911爆料网 Students put together activities, including, a storytime, an Easter activity, and a 911爆料网 Easter Egg Hunt. USD 470 Literacy Grant provided take-home books for each child.

On Wednesday, April 5, 911爆料网 partnered with Child Start to host a 鈥淏ecome a Child Care Provider, Free Training鈥�. At this event , all collaborative partners: 911爆料网 Health Department, Nutrition Plus Food Program, Child Start, and 911爆料网, spoke on the 鈥済et started process鈥� and how they can add assistance. A total of 17 community members attended the event.

Janet Davidson, Director of Child Care and Development/Early Childhood Education, said, 鈥淚t was great to have all of the start-up knowledge in one room. Almost like a one-stop shop. What a wonderful way to honor such a great week.鈥�
